Microsoft and OpenAI say threat actors are using LLMs to aid cyberattacks

Threat actors are using large language models (LLMs) to improve their cyberattacks, Microsoft and OpenAI revealed recently.

In a new blog post, Microsoft and OpenAI say it discovered attempts by Russian, North Korean, Iranian, and Chinese-backed threat actors to use LLMs like ChatGPT to research its targets and use its basic scripting tasks to “optimize” technical operations.

Tesla cuts the price of the Model Y by $4,000 in Canada

Tesla has cut the price of its Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Long Range models in Canada.

The $4,000 price cut drops the Model Y RWD down to $53,990 from $57,990. This price cut makes the Model Y RWD the same price as the Model 3 RWD for the first time.

The Model Y Long Range model has also been given a $4,000 price cut, dropping to $63,990 from $67,990.

Both these price cuts make the vehicles eligible for the federal government’s iZEV (zero-emission vehicle) $5,000 incentive. The federa

Xbox says Apple's new EU App Store rules are 'a step in the wrong direction'

Xbox president Sarah Bond posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Apple’s new app store policy is “a step in the wrong direction.”

Apple recently detailed changes to its app ecosystem in the European Union (EU). The changes allow users to install apps through third-party app marketplaces. This is to comply with the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which has a March 6th, 2024, deadline.

Apple faces backlash for a key component of its proposed policy, which charges a new ‘Core Technology Fee’ for dev

New MIT study finds AI might not take all our jobs -- yet

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been the talk of the town recently. From OpenAI’s ChatGPT to Galaxy AI in the newest Samsung Galaxy S24 series, it’s hard not to think about or avoid AI in today’s world.

One common fear with AI is that it will eventually take some of, if not most, of our jobs away one day.

However, MIT researchers suggest AI might not take away all our jobs just yet. In a recent study from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), researchers looke

New Tesla EV could enter production in 2025

A new Tesla model may soon be on the way, and it could be cheaper.

According to Reuters, Tesla reportedly wants to begin production on a new compact crossover electric vehicle (EV) codenamed “Redwood.” Supposedly, Tesla informed its suppliers it would like to begin production for this new mass-market EV in mid-2025.

While not confirmed, these new models could include an entry-level car that costs $25,000 USD (roughly $33,800 CAD). Elon Musk has discussed potentially building a $25,000 USD EV i

Ford cutting F-150 Lightning production starting this April

Ford is reducing the production of its F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck starting April 1st.

The automaker said the move is “to achieve optimal balance of production, sales growth and profitability” and that it expects to see “continued growth in its global EV sales in 2024, though less than anticipated.”

The move comes as Ford prepares to launch its next-generation electric vehicles (EVs) soon. Ford says it was America’s second best-selling electric vehicle brand in 2023 and the F-150 Lig

Reimagining Wasaga Beach – Seneca Journalism

It was a windy and snowy day, but with spring just starting, I couldn’t resist popping down to the waterfront in Wasaga Beach in anticipation of summer.

As I drove down Spruce Street on my way to the iconic Beach Drive, it was hard not to notice the vast empty space that occupies much of beach area one.

Where a mall and many businesses used to lie is now a parking lot. Gravel and rocks now make up the area where businesses used to flourish.

If Wasaga Beach Mayor Brian Smith has his way, beach

Canada is in a housing crisis. No matter where you look around the country, rent prices and home prices have risen substantially over the past decade. In Canada’s largest province of Ontario, the average price of a home was $855,990 in October of 2023. Compare that to October of 2013, when the average price of a home in Ontario was $391,820.
